10/31/17: Sokolow Theatre/Dance passes to new generation
The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble, the only New York modern dance company dedicated to the work of the late Anna Sokolow, has undergone a change in artistic directorship to a new generation of dancers with deep experience in the work of the iconoclastic choreographer.
Spring Season 2018: Moods & Dreams
March 8–11 at the Mark O’Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn . We will perform Anna Sokolow’s works Dreams, Preludes, Poem (performed by guest artist Jennifer Conley) and a re-discovered work from 1975, Moods. Guest artist Clarence Brooks will perform Sweet in the Morning by Leni Wylliams.

Sokolow Performance Technique
Taught by Samantha Geracht, this class explores Sokolow’s methods leading toward performance and composition skills. Tuesdays 1–2:30 pm, starting September 18.
Humphrey-Weidman Classes with Gail Corbin
Classes with Gail Corbin, a leading exponent in the technique and repertory of Doris Humphrey and Charles Weidman. Fridays 1-2:30 pm.
Isadora Duncan Classes with Francesca Todesco
Taught by long-time Duncan dancer, Francesca Todesco, this class offers an introduction into the technique and repertoire of legendary dance innovator, Isadora Duncan. Fridays 12:30–2 pm, starting September 21.
Artistic directorship passes to a new generation
Director Jim May, who inherited the Sokolow repertory in 2000 upon the choreographer’s passing, has announced the company’s artistic direction has been entrusted to long-time Sokolow dancer Samantha Geracht.
