The year 2020 marks the 65th anniversary of Anna Sokolow’s masterpiece Rooms. The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble will present Rooms along with Magritte, Magritte in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

As New Yorkers know, great things can happen in small spaces. This Friday, the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble will participate in (Park)ing Day, an annual international event where city parking spaces are transformed into miniature parks.
May 26-31, 2019, Lecce and Bari, Italy. Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble founder and director Jim May will teach a Sokolow repertory workshop, and direct and perform in two concerts, sponsored by Koreoproject.
The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble is honored to be joined for our 2019 spring season by three accomplished guest artists: choreographer Robert E. Cleary, costume designer Epperson, and dancer Daniel Fetecua Soto.
Our 2019 spring season, “I’m not here to be polite…”, will featured a reconstruction of Sokolow’s 1973 work, “Three Poems,” “Steps of Silence,” “This is Not America” by guest choreographer Robert Cleary of Kanopy Dance, “The Desperate Heart” by Valerie Bettis, and “Sleeping Bouquet” by Jim May.
