We invite you to experience a sampler of Anna Sokolow’s most interior works on April 25, 2023 in the intimate Lower East Side cabaret venue, The Slipper Room. We are planning a program that explores the astonishing range of feeling and experience in Sokolow’s solos, duets, and small groups.
CLOSE QUARTERS will include sections from Rooms, Ride the Culture Loop, Three Poems, Homage to Edgar Allan Poe, Preludes (Gershwin), Scenes from the Music of Charles Ives, and Magritte, Magritte. This is the first time we’ve designed a program especially for a caberet-sized space. The smaller the space, the more we as performers are compelled to reach deep inside. It promises to be an intense trip through Anna’s most edgy, sensual, dark, and surreal work.
