The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble will join five other dance groups in a celebration of International Women’s Day, presented by MeenMoves. Sun, rain, or snow, the event will take place on Wednesday, March 8 at 5pm in Riverview-Fisk Park in Jersey City Heights, before a panoramic backdrop of Manhattan.

Margaret Brackey will perform a preview of Ballad in a Popular Style, a 1936 Anna Sokolow solo that is being remade by Samantha Géracht to the newly re-discovered original score by Alex North. As Margaret discovered during rehearsal in the park (above), it’s a piece meant for the out-of-doors.
