Magritte, Magritte (1970) was Anna Sokolow’s multi-media masterpiece that gave rise to the theatre/dance genre, and is one of the most influential modern dance works ever created. The Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble was awarded an NEA grant in 2006 to recreate this full-scale work, infused with the droll spirit of Rene Magritte’s “snapshots of the impossible” (Robert Hughes). A DVD, produced and directed by Gene Ritchings, is now available for distribution to libraries, educational institutions, and the general public.
We are making the DVD available for $35 (plus shipping/handling). You can purchase DVDs through PayPal, or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org
