Sep, 2009 Fall Semester at New School for Social Research, Dance Department

• Lecture Series Sept. 17 – Oct. 22. Faculty member Jim May will conduct 6 four-hour lectures with rare videos on Anna Sokolow’s role in 20th Century dance.

Nov 6 & 7, 2009 Introdans will perform Rooms as part of Netherlands Dance Festival’s 50 year celebration. Anna Sokolow was Introdans’ first guest choreographer.

Kaddish

Dec 14, 2009 Kaddish will be performed as part of the 92nd Street Y Harkness Center’s 75th Anniversary.

2010

Feb 9, 2010 The Limón Company will perform Rooms on Anna Sokolow’s 100th Birthday.

Feb 14, 2010 Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensembles performs in the 92nd St. Y Sundays at 3 series.

Rooms

Feb 19 & 20, 2010 Boston Conservatory of Music (where Ms. Sokolow was given an honorary degree) will perform Rooms and From the Diaries of Franz Kafka.

Apr 22 – 25, 2010 Joyce Soho. Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble’s Spring season, including a special presentation of Murals, a newly discovered work by Ms. Sokolow.

Jul 19 – Aug 8, 2010 Cross-border collaboration between Mexico & United States. Cast includes dancers from both countries. Reconstruction of Murals, a dance Ms. Sokolow choreographed in 1980 which hasn’t been performed since then.

During this 1ooth Anniversary Celebration, there will be a display of Anna’s career at the Lincoln Center Library.
