The Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble is honored that the America-Israel Cultural Foundation will be presenting Rooms2020, our virtual adaptation of Anna Sokolow’s Rooms. The free virtual presentation will take place on Sunday, November 22 at 1:30 pm EST. After the video, Israeli dance scholar Henia Rottenberg and Artistic Director Samantha Geracht will speak and answer questions from the audience.

 

The America-Israel Cultural Foundation has promoted Israeli culture and artistic life for the last eight decades. They have provided life-changing support to over 18,000 outstanding artists through grants, competitions, and enrichment programs.

 

In 1974, they presented Anna Sokolow with a Lifetime Achievement Award. She had a great impact on the dance scene in Israel, first coming to work with Inbal Dance Company in 1953. In the following years, she worked and shaped renowned Israel-based dance groups including Batsheva Dance Company and Kibbutz Dance Company.
