The Rome-based dance company, Koreoproject, directed by Giorgia Maddamma, presents a conference and performance of Anna Sokolow repertory at MACRO Museum Rome. They will present three solos: “Escape” (Rooms), “Ideas of an Acrobat” (Magritte, Magritte), and the woman’s solo from Frida, directed by Jim May, director of the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble. There will also be a discussion of the connections between modern theater dance and music, poetry, and the visual arts, and a showing of the only known film of Anna Sokolow dancing: an excerpt of Bullfight from 1955.
