Revivals include Jane Dudley’s Cante Flamenco, 1944, danced by Nya Bowman, Ethel Winter’s En Dolor, 1944, and Sophie Maslow’s “Dusty Old Dust” from Dust Bowl Ballads, 1941, danced by Jennifer Conley, Martha Graham’s Lamentation, 1930, danced by Miki Orihara, Louise Kloepper’s Statement of Dissent, 1938, Sybil Shearer’s No Peace on Earth, 1947, Anna Sokolow’s Ideas of an Acrobat, 1970, and Hortense Lieberthal Zera’s, Never Sign A Letter Mrs., 1929, danced by Ella Rosewood, and Eleanor King’s Mother of Tears, 1935, Ernestine Stodelle’s Quasi Waltz, 1929, and Mother of Vengeance, 1935, danced by Meggi Sweeney Smith.

Fridays at Noon tickets are $10 online or in advance at the 92Y Box Office in the lobby /$15 at the 92Y Box Office on the day of the performance.

Celebrating Three Decades of Fridays at noon: 1987-2017

Modern dance pioneer and the Harkness Dance Center’s first director, Doris Humphrey once said, “All choreography is too long.”

Celebrating three decades of Fridays at Noon with choreography, excerpts, and improvs of 1-7 minutes in length from the original dance makers. The originator of Fridays at Noon, Jane Kosminsky, will introduce the series. Testimonials will be read. Each performance will conclude with an improvisation jam with all choreographers and dancers. Choreographers include Heidi Latsky, Jim May, Errol Simpson, David Parker, Mark DeGarmo, Jessica Nicoll, Ellen Cornfield, Keely Garfield, Amber Sloan, Sasha Spielvogel, Anna Sperber, Ara Fitzgerald, Ian Spencer Bell, Douglas Dunn, Kate Digby, Ursula Eagly, Alice Teirstein, Julia Gleich, Barbara Mahler, Clark Center, Aileen Passloff, Diana Byer, Rebecca Stenn, Celeste Hastings and more!
